The Thiruchendur Murugan Temple (formally Arulmigu Subramania Swamy Temple) is a major Hindu pilgrimage site located on the shores of the Bay of Bengal in Thiruchendur, Tamil Nadu. It is uniquely distinguished as the only one of the Six Abodes of Murugan situated on the seashore.major festival is Vaikasi Visakam.
- Architecture: Features a massive 9-tier gopuram standing 157 feet tall. Unlike most temples where the tower faces east, this gopuram faces west.
- Nali Kinaru: A sacred 14-square-foot well located 100 meters south of the temple. Remarkably, it contains fresh water despite its proximity to the salt-water sea.
- Rituals: Devotees traditionally bathe in the sea and then in the Nali Kinaru before entering the temple for worship
